Writing you can understand
We here at the City are committed to making sure that we use plain language to communicate with our residents. We’ve trained our employees to not talk fancy “government speak,” which we know doesn’t help you.
Why are we doing this?
In 2010, President Barack Obama signed into law the Plain Writing Act of 2010. It requires all federal agencies to write clearly. We have adopted those federal standards.
How are we doing?
If you don’t think we’re doing a good job writing clearly, please let us know.
