I-94 construction updates
March 28, 2017 01:07 PM
Starting Monday, March 27, the westbound half of the Lowry Tunnel will be reduced to two lanes at 8 p.m. and to one lane at 10 p.m. The tunnel should reopen daily by 6 a.m. These restrictions could be in place through Thursday, March 30.
While crews work in the eastbound tunnel, the eastbound I-394 ramp to I-94 east will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. The concrete removal in the tunnel is expected to be done by April 7th.
This work is in preparation to shift both directions of traffic into one side of the tunnel. Traffic will be shifted in mid to late May while bridge and tunnel work requires crews to close the one side of the tunnel.
