Resilient Communities Project

The Resilient Communities Project (RCP) is a year-long partnership between the University of Minnesota and one Minnesota community. Through the partnership, faculty and university students explore community-identified projects to advance local sustainability and resilience.

For the 2016-2017 school year, RCP selected Brooklyn Park as its partner community and has started seeking university course matches for the 24 projects submitted by the community through City staff.

The 24 projects focus on a broad range of issues in our community, including:

  • Renter engagement
  • Diversifying our Police Department
  • Long-term sustainability of natural resources
  • Youth employment
  • Pedestrian safety
  • Workforce development

Get involved!

Come to our Community Kick-Off Event on September 19, 5 to 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall! Or contact staff below to learn more about the projects and how you can participate.
