Young people are hosting a black history month event.

Features

  • Live performances by local artists
  • A barber shop conversation on the topic of community over competition led by OALC, SAGE Academy and Champlin Park High School students
  • A case study of social justice co-facilitated by Cooper High School students
  • A poetry slam on equity and micro-aggressions led by Fridley High School students
  • A lunch and selfies networking session for building connections through conversation and Snapchat selfies

Goals

This event is designed to:

  • Improve understanding of black history
  • Work to improve an inclusive community
  • Gain young people’s viewpoints on current events

This is a free event and open to everyone.
