Our swimming lessons follow the American Red Cross Learn To Swim program for children ages 6 and over. We have also developed our own preschool swimming program for children ages 3-5 with successful results for over 15 years.
Our swimming lessons are held at two different locations: Brooklyn Junior High School (7377 Noble Ave.) and Jackson Community Pool (6000 109th Ave N). Be sure to check individual session listings for the exact location.
When selecting a level for your child, please refer to the descriptions of the skill levels and choose the one that most closely fits your child’s ability. It is common for some children to repeat a level several times before advancing onto the next level. It is our philosophy that if a child is between levels, that they be registered for the lower level to give them additional time for skill development. We prefer to ensure success at a lower level than have a child struggle in an advanced level they are not ready for. If you have questions on what level to sign up for please call Jody at 763-493-8373 for help determining the proper level.
We offer the following lessons:
Parent and Tot Swimming lessons (toddler- age 3)
Preschool lessons (ages 3-5 years old without parent)
School age lessons (ages 6 and over)
Water Safety Aid training
Summer Open Swim

Julie Brusegaard-Bissell Swimming Scholarship
Julie Brusegaard-Bissell was a swimming instructor with the City of Brooklyn Park who passed away from lung cancer in December of 2008. Julie was a caring and enthusiastic instructor who enjoyed teaching children of all ages and abilities how to swim.
To honor Julie’s memory, her parents Tom and Myrnell Brusegaard have created the Julie Brusegaard-Bissell Swimming Scholarship. This scholarship fund was developed to give children in financial need the opportunity to take swimming lessons they might not otherwise be able to afford. Tom and Myrnell hope this opportunity will help spread Julie's love of swimming to others.
If you are interested in applying for a full scholarship for swimming lessons please contact Gina Magstadt at 763-315-8426. You must complete the application and turn it in along with the proper paperwork. Please plan for 1-2 weeks prior to registration to process your swim scholarship application.
