Music lessons

Music for Everyone (MFE) is a cooperative program with the cities of Brooklyn Park, Golden Valley, Maple Grove, New Hope and Plymouth.

We offer private and group lessons to students of all ages. Call Alyssa Krumholz to arrange your private lesson time prior to registration: 763-509-5224.

Music lessons offered

In Brooklyn Park, we offer the following lessons:

  • Private piano 
  • Private woodwinds

Additional lessons in guitar and voice are available in member cities. Please register in the city where the lessons will take place.

Registration information

  • Register for lessons in the city in which lessons take place. State your lesson time upon registration.
  • Lessons in Brooklyn Park are held in the CAC Music Room.
  • Must be at least 7 years old to register for private lessons.
  • All students must bring their receipt to their first private lesson.
  • No make-ups will be offered.
  • Scholarships are not available for music lessons.

Music instructors

Music for Everyone instructors have varying musical backgrounds. They are trained in performance of a particular instrument, as school music teachers, or in musical theater. All of the instructors in Music for Everyone are passionate about music and strive to nurture that same love of music in their students.


Beginner to advanced, ages 7 and up

Lessons include basic and advanced keyboard technique, sight reading, basic music theory, and ensemble playing.


Beginner to advanced, ages 7 and up

Develop tone, rhythm and music reading skills while enjoying a variety of musical styles.

Dance classes

The Brooklyn Park Dance program’s philosophy is to teach the fundamentals of dance by making dance fun for all abilities. Self-esteem is more important than perfection. Being able to enjoy the “art of dance” and feel comfortable performing are the major objectives.

Dance classes offered

We offer instruction in:

  • Tap, ballet, jazz
  • Pointe
  • Adult classes

Registration procedures and fees

Classes are for ages 3 to 103 (must be 3 by September 1, NO exceptions). Please keep a second class choice in mind in case your preferred class is not available. All dancers must be registered by October 30 to be eligible to dance in the spring recital. Classes begin the week of September 12; costume money will be due by November 5.

Dates offered

Our school year dance classes begin in September and run through late spring ending with our spring dance recitals. We offer introductory sessions in the summer for dancers who are interested in trying our classes.

Adult dance

Experience a variety of dance genre including ballet, lyrical, jazz, and tap. Students of all experience levels are welcome to join this class of dancers ranging in age from 20 to 60. We will work on technique and dance strengthening including short phrases of ballet choreography. Dancers will showcase their work at the spring recital. Adult students may participate in class without being in the spring recital understanding that half of class time will be dedicated to performance dances.

Daddy–daughter dance class

Grade 1 and older

Are you a dad or other favorite adult family member? Join your dancer(s) for this fun family class!

Each lesson will include warm up, partnering, and basic choreography. Classes will culminate with a Spring Dance Recital performance. One adult partner can accompany all children within one immediate family group. Calendar with lesson dates will be available the first week of class.

Art classes

Kidcreate Studio’s award-winning art classes allow kids to explore art in an environment full of giggles and grins. Kids create fridge worthy masterpieces while learning art concepts and experimenting with different art materials. Curriculum is age appropriate and designed to inspire. Classes provide a fun, self-esteem building atmosphere full of “I did it” moments. Making a mess is the best with Kidcreate Studio!

Finding Dory Art Class with Kidcreate Studio

Ages 4 to 9

Dive right in to 3D art! During this class, your child will create a 3D ocean themed diorama along with a 3D clay sculpture of their favorite fish friend from Disney’s movie Finding Dory. Dory and Nemo would love this class!

Christmas Cookie-Making Party with Kidcreate Studio

Ages 4 to 9

Kids love decorating Christmas cookies! Moms hate it—what a mess!! Kidcreate to the rescue! We will work on multiple cookie-themed projects, including decorating real cookies. This is art the kids can eat!
