Hockey Lessons and Clinics
Brooklyn Park Ice Arena has two indoor regulation hockey rinks where Hockey Learn to Skate lessons and hockey clinics are held year round for youth. Hockey skates can be rented as well as skate trainers to assist young beginning skaters.
Hockey learn to skate
Ages 3 to 12
The hockey curriculum is designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey skating. In four badge levels, skaters will learn to maneuver faster and be more agile on the ice. All elements will be taught without a stick or puck, as proper skating techniques are the primary focus of the levels. Hockey or bike helmet is required; other equipment is optional. Each class will consist of a 30-minutes lesson and 30-minute practice time. Pre-registration required; class not subject to prorating.
Hockey skills training
Mites, Squirts, Peewees, Bantams and goalies
North Metro Youth Hockey Association (NMYHA) coaches have prepared an advanced fall hockey training program for NMYHA players to get them ready for the upcoming try-outs and season. The program will have top coaches introduce advanced training methods to get players to the next level and give them an edge for the upcoming season. Maximum of six goalies per skater age group level, must pre-register. Please register for the level you will be playing the 2016–17 season.
No checking hockey league
Elite Gold and Silver Divisions
No checking/no slap-shot hockey league for Fall. Open to post-high-school adults 18 or older. This is an officiated league with a 10-game regular season and a season-ending tournament with a 2-game guarantee. Games are played Sunday through Thursday evenings. Deadline for registration is August 20. Leagues will begin in September. Call 763-493-8333.
