Bulky waste curbside cleanup

Every fall there is a bulky waste curbside cleanup event for approximately one third of the city. Residents will receive a postcard in the mail indicating which date they are scheduled for pick-up and information about the event.

Changes to bulky waste curbside cleanup collection

The cost of the bulky waste curbside cleanup collection program has more than doubled in the past five year. To reduce costs the City Council agreed to set limits on the amount of material collected. Minor changes include:

  • General junk and household building materials: Pile limited to ONE level truck bed (Generally 4’ x 8’ x 2’).
  • Unusable furniture: Limit TWO.
  • Mattresses or box springs: Limit TWO.
  • Appliances: Limit TWO

Items exceeding limits will be left behind by the hauler. Residents will need to arrange and pay for separate disposal.

2024 cleanup area

The 2024 cleanup will be for residents in the following neighborhoods:

  • Bass Creek
  • Candlewood
  • College Park
  • Greenhaven
  • Hartkopf
  • Lakeland Park
  • Northland
  • Shingle Creek
  • Sunny Lane
  • Tessman
  • Village Creek

Use the interactive map to find your date. If you live in a different district find options on how to get rid of your stuff:

How it works

No need to make an appointment. Trucks will go down your street automatically. However, they’ll only go through your area once—no return trips.

Set your items out before 7 a.m. on collection day, but not more than two days before the pick-up day. Place appliances on one side of your driveway and bulky household waste on the other. Small items should be boxed or bagged. Do not place items in your garbage or recycling containers. Drain all fluids from items.

Acceptable items

Residential waste only; no contractor or business related materials.

Appliances

Limit 2. Empty appliances and tie/tape appliance doors shut and place on opposite side of driveway of other waste. No ammonia-gas camper appliances. Examples include:

  • Air conditioners
  • Dehumidifiers
  • Dyers
  • Microwaves
  • Refrigerators
  • Stoves
  • Washers
  • Water heaters

Old/unusable furniture

Limit 2. Tie and secure hide-a-way beds individually so they cannot open during handling. Example include:

  • Couches
  • Chairs
  • Tables

Mattresses and box springs
