Comprehensive Plan

What is a comprehensive plan?

A Comprehensive Plan (or "Comp Plan") sets the direction for what the City wants to be in the future and lays out actions to get there.

What will Brooklyn Park's Comp Plan do?

  • Create and sustain elements that define the City's character, heritage, and identity
  • Influence the economic health of the community by attracting new investment and guiding it to proper locations
  • Protect existing investments through the promotion of strong residential neighborhoods and business districts
  • Build upon and use the hopes and visions for the City that have been established in the Brooklyn Park 2025 community plan

What's in one?

Regional policy plans established by the Metropolitan Council and customized for Brooklyn Park.

Topics will include

  • Land use
  • Housing
  • Economic development
  • Transportation
  • Water
  • Jobs
